My Feel Good Journal – Day 3

I'd Rather Eat Veggies than Fried Food! www.ChoosingToFeelGood.com Beth SawickieToday we went to a buffet…you know the kind…with TONS of fried food – fried shrimp, egg rolls, french fries…etc.  Keep reading to hear what  “Feel Good” choices I made…

Here are my 4-G’s for Day 3:

Goin’: I walked with Soc (the dog) at sunset today around some old cranberry bogs.  Another beautiful evening!

Greens:  I had a green(ish) smoothie this afternoon.  I almost forgot to have it!

Smoothie ingredients:  1 head of romain lettuce, blackberries, 1/2 banana, blueberries, chia seeds, flax seeds, goji berries, maca powder, plant protein powder, almond milk (unsweetened)

Today is Doug’s day off from work and this is when my schedule gets skewed.  Here is what our “normal” day would be –

A.M. stop at Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee.  I’d usually get a extra large hot tea with lemon (no sugar) and a large coffee with cream (no sugar – I add Stevia drops by Sweet Leaf).  Then we’d head to a Bagel Shop 🙂  Egg everything toasted with scallion cream cheese – YUM!

P.M.  Buffet. Yep! Fried this, fried that, some veggies, hibachi, sushi then sugary desserts.

Here is how today actually went:

A.M. – Hot water with lemon from home – nothing at Dunkin’.  At Bagel Shop – veggie omelet – no cheese. NO bagel.

P.M.  Buffett! Nothing fried.  Crab legs, shrimp, veggies on the hibachi grill with ginger sauce, sushi and fresh fruit.

I think I did pretty well today 🙂

Making healthy choices like these all started with doing the “4-G’s”!

Givin’:   Today I gave out…. SMILES 🙂  At least I tried to.  Especially in moments where I normally would have automatically reacted negatively.  Seriously…walking around smiling at people is not my normal… up until NOW! 🙂  It’s amazing how the world can shift with just a smile 🙂

Gratitude:

I am grateful for the beautiful, warm and sunny 60 degree weather 🙂 (it was a LONG winter).

I am grateful for spending time with Doug today – we have fun together 🙂

I am grateful for getting to enjoy a beautiful sunset while walking with Soc 🙂
