My Feel Good Journal – Day 2
Here are my 4-G’s for Day 2:
What are “The 4-G’s of Feeling Good”? – find out HERE.
Goin’: This was another morning that looked just yucky! Below is an actual picture of all the gray clouds this morning 🙁Plus I was running a bit short on time – but I didn’t let that stop me! I took a speed walk with Soc (the dog) around the block earlier in the day – seriously – speed walk – took less than 10 minutes. My lower legs are feeling a bit tight and sore 🙁
Then we walked a bit at a nearby nature area around sunset. Below is the view we had. It’s wonderful how such a crappy looking day (above), can turn into something truly beautiful 🙂
You can see a larger version of this photo HERE.
And the spring peepers (frogs) were “peepin'” 🙂 I actually was able to record them with my phone, take a listen here:
Greens: I had a green(ish) smoothie during my speed-walk with the dog.
Smoothie ingredients: 1/2 head of romain lettuce (this was a really large head o’ lettuce – used the rest for salad at lunch), blackberries, 1/2 banana, blueberries, chia seeds, flax seeds, goji berries, maca powder, plant protein powder, almond milk (unsweetened)
Givin’: I gave myself the gift of setting realistic goals for the day and breaking tasks down into small, easily do-able, chunks. I’ll admit, though, that I still had a few too many “to-do’s” on my list. Those extra ones will get slid over to tomorrow – no harm done. Next time, I’ll keep the list shorter. I’d feel better getting a shorter list done with time to spare to perhaps do an “extra” task.
I also focused on staying present while spending time with my Mom today. I didn’t obsessively check my cell phone, facebook, e-mail..etc. I shut off the ringer and put the darn thing down! I was present, participated and listened!
And while she was busy doing other things… I went and cleaned up some bird poop that had hit her house – those little feathery creatures really dive-bombed it! lol.
Gratitude:
I am grateful that my best friend and I are supporting each other while we make healthy food choices and loose some excess pounds that have crept on little by little 🙂
I am grateful for spending time with my Mom today – enjoying each others company and sharing laughter.
I am grateful for choosing to eat healthy today.
I had an opportunity (at Mom’s) to have a raspberry bar (boxed mix from Krusteaz). In the past, I would have eaten at least two – then I know she’d send me home with some and those would be gone within 48 hours! I also have acknowledged that I am a sugar addict. Seriously – addict – I’m not joking. Anyways I was able to say no (after first saying yes!) and she didn’t get insulted which was a phew! moment for me. I’m proud of myself! Note to self: don’t be afraid to say no politely to unhealthy food – even if you said yes first!
And by the way… I’d love it if you joined me in doing the “4-G’s” – grab your free copy of my book that explains it all “Get Back on the Feel Good Train: 4 Simple Strategies for Getting You Back on Track” HERE. and there’s a printable journal sheet too!
I’d love to hear your 4-G’s…. share ’em below…
