Hello! I‘m Beth Sawickie and I’d like to tell you a bit more about me and how I can inspire you!
I am an Artist, a Writer, and a Thriver!
These gifts blossomed once I moved away from ‘blah'(depression) towards ‘bliss’ – and I’d like to share them with you!
My purpose is to inspire others to be pro-active in their self-care, re-discover what brings them joy and create self-bliss!
I do this through sharing my journey – the ups and the downs, sharing what helps keep me happy and healthy and sharing joys I have discovered (photography, nature, mandalas and more).
Life Through the Lens…
As I recovered from depression I found I wanted to do something creative. Photography – mainly nature photography – became that creative outlet.
First a little point-and-shoot camera and after many years my current Nikon D-7000.
As I’d be “processing” my images I wanted something MORE from them. Something that could visibly show the exuberance I felt when taking the shots – like that beautiful sunset!
I began experimenting with filters tweaks…etc. And stumbled upon some awesome mandala images too.
I became addicted (in a good way) to creating mandalas or kaleidoscope images.
There’s just something mesmerizing about them.
I never know what they are going to look like – I just play with the original image (usually one of my photos) and magic occurs.
I create Personal Mandalas for others too.
I have always loved to write (almost always – school papers not so much!)
When I am just in the zone and writing from my heart the words flow onto the page like music.
I write to inspire others to thrive in their lives.
I share my journey and what has helped me move from “Blah to Bliss”.
This includes the “4-G’s of Feelin’ Good” and my soon to be released book “From Blah to Bliss”.
I’ve been challenged by depression since at least 15 years old. Things were off-kilter for years. But it was my “normal” so I didn’t realize just how bad it was.
My 20’s was a cycle of on-meds, off-meds – highs and the lows of depression. A seriously torturous runaway roller coaster.
In my mid-30’s I finally acknowledged that I had a true illness – Bipolar II.
Ongoing therapy and low doses of meds have helped – but that is only part of what keeps me Feeling Great & Loving Life!
I decided to become an Active Participant in MY Mental and Physical and Spiritual Health. I was doing that in little spurts. Diet changes, exercise classes…etc. Nothing stuck.
I didn’t need a strict regimen – I needed Simple Strategies.
That is where the “4-G’s of Feeling Good” started.
Now, I am truly in a much better, balanced and happier place in life.
Not only do I Feel Good… I Feel GREAT & I am THRIVING!
I take care of myself – body, mind and soul – by doing the 4-G’s every day & creating with my camera.
I’m often learning new ways to practice the 4-G’s – a new way to get Goin’, add more Greens to my diet, Give to others (and myself) and I’m always finding new things to be Grateful for.
I can spend hours out in nature – in awe – and snapping photos – click,click,click.
I must say, though, you won’t see many sunrise pictures from me! I’m more of a night person…so, sunsets are more my thing.
I am a work in progress – as are we ALL!

Living the Dream in Southern NJ
I live with my boyfriend, Doug, 1 dog (Soc short for Socrates) and 3 cats (Orville, Smoke and Irene).
Here is Doug and I in our dorky hats on one of our kayaking trips. I live a much more active life than I used to – and I LOVE IT!
We were both born and raised in NJ – in fact – we’re high school sweethearts 🙂 After many years apart we found our way back to each other and it has been a true blessing!
He has been with me through countless highs and lows and I’m thankful to be able to share my life with him while being in a much healthier place.
We still live in NJ – but have moved further south – down in the “Pine Barrens” (with the Jersey Devil…lol).
Here is Soc looking cute and adorable! And the 3 cats surrounding me as I attempt to sleep.
